Due to increasing demand for our services, we are currently seeking suitable Sydney based candidates for an immediate start in the following position:
Drilling Supervisor
This is a great opportunity to work with a reputable professional company that is looking to expand its operations with cutting edge machinery and technology.
The position is based on full-time employment for the successful candidate, following positive completion of a 6-month probation period. The position will involve DIDO and FIFO rosters / 12-hour days / potential for weekend and night shift works (as required).
Responsibilities will incorporate assisting the Management team with, but not limited to:
- Field based leadership of the day-to-day drilling operations consisting of Geotechnical and Environmental Investigations conducting Solid and Hollow Flight Augering, Rotary Mud and Air Drilling, Sonic Drilling as well as Wireline and conventional Diamond Coring Drilling techniques. In-Situ Testing comprising of Standard Penetration Tests (SPT), Push Tube as well as Piston Tube Sampling.
- Supervising Installations comprising of groundwater and gas monitoring wells, inclinometers, VWP, SPE’s as well as MPE’s.
- Supervising the development and flow tests of groundwater bores.
- Ensuring compliance across the business operations with localised legislative, regulatory, project and company requirements.
- Ensuring drill crews adhere to all project and company requirements, specifications, policies and procedures.
- Enforcing a positive culture fostering a zero â harm approach to work.
- Reporting effectively and efficiently through the appropriate chain of command and communication channels on a daily basis.
- Ensuring drill crews complete PLODS and safety documents correctly and efficiently in a timely manner.
- Provide training, guidance and mentoring to drill teams.
- Problem solving non-routine, complex downhole and surface issues as they arise.
Minimum requirements for the Senior Driller position are:
- Previous experience in a leadership position essential
- Previous experience as a Senior Driller essential
- Ability to work away on rosters as required
- Ability to obtain a minimum HC truck license
- Cert III / IV in Drilling or industry equivalent
- Cert IV in Training & Assessing (preferred but not essential)
- NSW Class 1 or greater, water well license (or have the ability to acquire)
- Current First Aid Certificate (preferred but not essential)
- NSW White Card (Construction Induction Card, or have the ability to acquire)
- Current and valid RISI (preferred but not essential)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical inclusive of D&A test
- Current Covid-19 vaccinations as per local government mandates
- Ability to obtain a Police Clearance upon request
